The Dripping Locket
“It cries like it remembers somethin’. Problem is—sometimes it makes you remember too.”
This small heart-shaped locket is made of tarnished silver and hangs from a chain that’s always cold. Inside, there’s no portrait—just a soft shimmer of water, like a tear that never falls. The Dripping Locket was found on the banks of the Bleakmere, clasped around the neck of a woman who’d forgotten her own name. They say the locket holds her last memory. Mike just says, “Don’t wear it on rainy days unless ya like voices.”
Wear it if yer tired, wear it if yer lost—just be ready to pay the price.

Rarity: Uncommon
Attunement: Yes
Slot: Neck or pocket
Weight: Negligible
Tear of Relief (1/day):
As a bonus action, you may open the locket to remove 1 level of exhaustion.
However, doing so deals 1d6 psychic damage as the locket’s sorrow bleeds into your mind.Silent Burden (Passive):

GM Notes:
Simple but flavorful. Good for characters pushing past fatigue, especially monks, barbarians, or any campaign with grueling travel, resource attrition, or long-haul dungeon arcs. Best when the cost of survival is part of the theme.
Pairs well with:
Just one breath. Just one tear. Sometimes that’s enough to keep walkin’.
👉 Want to survive a little longer when the road gets cruel? The Dripping Locket’s waitin’. Just don’t forget who you are while wearin’ it.
