This small heart-shaped locket is made of tarnished silver and hangs from a chain that’s always cold. Inside, there’s no portrait—just a soft shimmer of water, like a tear that never falls. The Dripping Locket was found on the banks of the Bleakmere, clasped around the neck of a woman who’d forgotten her own name. They say the locket holds her last memory. Mike just says, “Don’t wear it on rainy days unless ya like voices.”

The Dripping Locket – Wondrous Item (Trinket)

• Tear of Relief (1/day):
  As a bonus action, you may open the locket to remove 1 level of exhaustion.
  However, doing so deals 1d6 psychic damage as the locket’s sorrow bleeds into your mind.

• Silent Burden (Passive):
  While attuned, the wearer cannot be put to sleep by magical means—but dreams become muted and empty. This grants no mechanical bonus, but may affect roleplay or narrative.

GM Notes:

Simple but flavorful. Good for characters pushing past fatigue, especially monks, barbarians, or any campaign with grueling travel, resource attrition, or long-haul dungeon arcs. Best when the cost of survival is part of the theme.
