Helping a Quiet Player Shine

Another quiet player at my table didn’t just whisper; they seemed reluctant to engage at all. I reassured them that no one would mock their voice or ideas and avoided language that could trigger self‑consciousness. Offering to narrate for them until they were ready gave them permission to ease in at their own pace. Over a few sessions, they opened up and started taking the lead in scenes.

A safe, judgment‑free space and flexible participation options are often all a shy player needs to feel comfortable.
