Turning Chaos Into a Chase

A cosmic entity was about to be defeated far too soon by an inventive player. To preserve my story hook, I improvised: the creature flung the party off a tall structure, forcing them into a chase through the streets. I hadn’t planned it, but drawing on scenes from books and movies I’d absorbed before the session gave me the inspiration I needed. A five‑round chase kept everyone on edge and let my plot survive.

Being well‑read and flexible lets you spin a near‑miss into a memorable moment when the prep runs out.
